I really love this recipe because it uses so much less sugar than regular pectin uses and it tastes just as good if not better — the key is to use the less sugar pectin. We got six jars of blueberry jam from this recipe and they will last in the freezer for up to one year.

So, you need to make sure you buy freezer safe jars to insure that they will freeze without issues. Buying pectin at a bulk foods store can save you TONS. I will definitely have to check out that book. Can you just reduce the amount of sugar if your fruit is really sweet as-is or you just prefer a less sugary jam.
