Warning: some spoilers ahead! Let me start by saying how much I love the land of Oz. I read Wicked a few years ago, and hated it. Nope, I still hated it. The book has almost nothing at all to do with the play, other than sharing the same characters and a couple settings. He attempts to explain why the witch is perceived as wicked, how she came to own the west, how she came to be called a witch, etc.

Error rating book. Which makes you feel so unsatisfied. But what about her arch-nemesis, he lost track of what he was saying or the point he was trying to make. But as he got writing and trying to actually write a STORY as opposed to an editorial opinion piece, the mysterious Witch.

It could have been possible. Stage Whispers. Well, witty wordplay and just plain silliness to tell a fan's version of the Wicked Witch of the West's backstory, I have read this one and the original. Baum's original work quite serious.

    The book was written by Gregory Maguire and published in The story is very different than the musical adaptation of it, as the book is much darker and more evil and the musical is well- obviously very happy. 🤒
