There are many wonderful examples using MATLAB and these are very helpful to clear both mathematical and programming concepts. Asked 7 years, 9 months ago. The stronger mathematics student comes away believing numerical analysis is boring and shallow, and the engineer comes away thinking mathematics has nothing to offer a real problem. The authors demonstrate that after developing a proper model and understanding of the engineering situation they are working on, and then implement the appropriate numerical methods to solve these problems.
