Indian Lamb Curry - Dinner, then Dessert

Slow cooked lamb curry with a rich and delicately spiced coconut curry sauce. Minimal effort with loads of flavour. I made this curry last week, and we ate it on a dark and miserable evening. The perfect belly-warming mea l when the cold weather starts drawing in. I often make curries using chopped up beef or chicken, but this one is made using a whole lamb shoulder. We start by searing the lamb with a little oil.

A lot more tender. Lamb is an interesting protein here in the US. Made this the other day. A few small unexpected things I found with it: I found that 2 cups of water is too much.

Indian Lamb Curry made in an hour with and easy homemade curry spice mix and creamy tomato sauce, simmered on low heat until fall apart tender. Lamb is an interesting protein here in the US. Outside the United States people enjoy lamb dishes far more often, but here it gets the reputation for being really gamey. For wild meat, like venison or lamb, you may notice a stronger meat taste. This is due to the difference in diet most wild animals have. Just as cows are fed a mostly corn diet, many wild animals eat different plants and foods which allow for the meat to have a much stronger flavor. If you find you want the meat to be less flavorful, I recommend trimming as much of the fat as possible as most of the gamey flavor is concentrated in the fat.

Elmarie Thursday, Besst Rogan Josh is actually not very hot spicy and is perfect suitable for Western taste palate, June 29. Remove the cardamon and discard. Trying this tomorrow. As spicy as this looks.

    The dish is garnished with fresh coriander, slivers of fresh ginger and chopped green chillies. Suggestions: 1 Reduce the amount of water used to have less runny sauce. What I like about slow cooking is - lamb comes out so tender that it almost melts in mouth. The RSS feed for this twitter account is not loadable for the moment?

    Melissa Green. No-one who knows even the basics could propose a meat dish without seasoning to be palatable. That makes this recipe so much more understandable for me, I remember how quickly it was gobbled up. The very first time I made this curry about 4 years agobut helps me learn at the same time.

    I made this last night using lamb leg and it was delicious. Pauline Evans! I suggest to cook for 1 hr, covered. You could always just increase the seasonings listed in the recipe to customize it more to your liking.
