Either one can be read on its own but I would recommend reading in order to see the relationship developing between the two main protagonists and to see the back story in Kill the Angel brings together once more the really quite excellent duo of Colomba Caselli and Dante Torre - who now, after this novel, diabolical and bent on revenge to eliminate the very people who had a hand in her creation. She is elusive.
